My Journey

Meet Sam

From a very young age, my mum often said I ‘wear my heart on my sleeve’ and for a very long time I thought that was a bad thing – and no one corrected me. Along side this sat a high level of emotional intelligence and a pinch of early wisdom, apparently a bit deeper and broader than those of similar age - which I never really understood until adulthood.

But I have always been good with people. Really curious and genuinely interested in their stories.

Needless to say I was pointed in the direction of a ‘people’ career which started a Business degree majoring in Human Resources. Did I mention that I had a natural gift of leading others but back then it was called being ‘bossy.’ I believe this is an indirect outcome of having to stand my ground growing up with two brothers, though they may disagree.

I have been fortunate to have had a ‘people’ career for over 20 years both in Australia and England. I’ve worked mostly in HR but got curious along the way and also dabbled in business development, event planning and more recently buying and renovating houses - something not as glamorous as tv shows make it out to be!

I’ve performed and delivered what I’ve been trained and qualified to do but decided along the way to keep an open mind and explore what I like to do – and these aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive. Every opportunity, every experience I’ve encountered and chosen has led me to where I am today.

Helping people help themselves.
